Sustainability
We’ve always been fabric obsessed—softness like ours doesn’t happen without being picky about materials, after all. So, it makes sense that we took a fabric-forward approach when developing Splendid Kind, our endeavor to design clothes with a softer impact on the environment. When you see the Splendid Kind logo, it means that the product’s main fabric is made with at least 95% of one or more of our Splendid Kind fibers.
Here, let us walk you through what that means exactly:
"Main fabric"
refers to the only fabric listed on the care content label or—if the product is comprised of multiple fabrics—the first fabric listed on the label.
“Splendid Kind fibers”
include organically grown cotton, recycled materials, TENCEL™ Lyocell and Lenzing™ ECOVERO™.” Read on to learn more about these soft-impact materials.
LENZING FIBERS
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are made from wood, a natural raw material carefully sourced from responsibly managed forests, and are manufactured using resource efficient production methods.
ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON
Organic cotton is cotton that is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or other toxic chemicals. Organic cotton farming helps lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduce energy consumption, conserve water, and promote healthy soil.
RECYCLED MATERIALS
Recycled materials are materials that have been reprocessed or reclaimed into a final product or component of the product. Reclaimed materials are diverted from the solid waste stream—either during manufacturing or after consumer use—thereby reducing our dependence on virgin petroleum-based material.
